Even with build 1.9 m100 presentations can be sluggish - check the Use OpenGL box (see issue 45877) and the problem seems to go away. My PC is a laptop with an ATI 7500 mobile and is using the driver supplied by Sony - the makers of the laptop. Otherwise my box has 2.0 pentium 4 - no HT 256 megs of ram and has Win XP home SP2.
