I looked for a way to make copies of drawing objects. Something simple like
holding the cntrl or shift key while dragging the object. Many draw programs do
this. I could not get yours(ours) to do this reliably. Occasionaly, I would get
a copy. Mostly, I just moved the object. I have 1.9.100.

Your documentation under help>copy says:

"To move draw objects, first select them. To select ,more than one object,
press
the Shift key while clicking. Select text objects by clicking exactly on their
edge. While holding down the mouse button, drag the objects to the new
location.
If you hold down Shift while dragging, the objects can only be positioned in
places compatible with the page margins and the other objects on the page.
Hold down Ctrl while dragging the draw object to copy the object."

This is all awkward. Especially the text. Sometimes it moves, sometimes it
duplicates, sometimes it jumps all over the page.

NOBODY tries to click on edges. They don't have any surface area and you can
not
tell when you are on an edge. You should be able to click on the graphic or
group of graphic objects anywhere in the select box of the group or item.

Also, you should not have to read the fine print in a help file to read how to
trick the duplicate function into working properly.

Thanks.
