------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 19 14:24:52 -0700 2005 ------- I can easily create a Custom Action to allow the deletion of the Quickstarter Shortcut. All I need to know is where is the location of the Quickstarter? For example on a progfram I'm writing, the FastLauncher (my equivilent to the OOo Quickstarter) shortcut is created at "KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" if it's an All-Users / Everyone installation or "KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" if it's a "Just for Me" installation. If you don't want to use a Custom Action, then you can add an entry to the Registry Table (which is very easy using tools like InstallShield, Wise (I use this), or MS Platform SDK's Orca). You could also add an entry to the Shortcut table for the Startup Group. What you shouldn't do is have the first time wizard create the shortcut. That's what's causing the trouble. If you'd like, I can easily create this and supply an attached MSI Database with this change.
