Ah! I should have suspected that: I thought that happened when translating into
.sxc by Calc, as viewed from Lotus the ranges in the .XLS file still appear to
be relative refs.

I realized this when I tried to import in OOo-1.9.82 ;(

And, this is a pity (from my point of view) as Lotus _is_ "The Spredsheet",
Excel being only its 'rough copy'!

On my turn, I don't know yet all Calc potentialities; however, just tested the
mixed reference like $A1 and found they seem to work exactly the same, both in
Calc and Lotus (apart from the major Lotus 'flexibility' to call the range
defined as $A1 both as 'range' and as '$range' according to the result you 
wish).
