This bug occured in 1.9.100, but is recurrent from the previous beta version. Reproduced on different hardware/language setting (but on the same OS: WinXP). Powerpoint viewer 2003 (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Microsoft_PowerPoint_Viewer/1041874457/1) just opens the file fine. I believe powerpoint does the same.
