The longer I think about it, it seems to me, that this issue is more or less
INVALID like issue 37612.
It seems, that the preselection has been "4 document pages per preview page" or
similar, but it has not been visible for me clearly because my preview started
with a page 3/3, so that I only saw page 3, left centred (correctly).
The "multiple page preview" option seems to be not available for CALC, so that
there the behaviour is different.
So I close this issue RESOLVED INVALID someone else should CLOSE it) and I will
think about an enhancement issue "make preview function more userfriendly" or
something like that.
