Hi,
Excel isn't an integrated system like OOo, so Excel just opens all files named
as .xls. Calc looks into the header of the file and determines in which
Aplication the file should be opened. The file you've attached has the HTML
Header and not the header for XLS files, therefore it opens in Writer/Web if you
choose it in the file open dialog or double click it.
Therefore the behaviour of Calc *is* correct and this Issue is closed again as
invalid.
