If you are both talking about the same thing:
1) The sections you see in the master documents are not THE subdocuments but
only links to them. Thus modifications in the sections won't be saved in the
master document.To modify sub-documents, double click on there names in the
Navigatir.
2) it is possible to save changes made in the section inside of the master
document.
- in the Navigator, click the icon "Save contents as well"
- modify the sections
- save
- on (re)load, DON'T update links
