For example, I could have found a mistake with the speclling checker, but none of the hints are satisfactory. At shi point, I can close the spelling checker window, and do my edits by hand, with the mistaken word still selected. Or, you could allow text editing even with the spelling checker open - as it happens with the Search and Replace window.
