to clarify this issue a little:

1. I find the statement, "This is identified as an engineering effort to fix
old data once
Openoffice upgrades to Danube (3.5)" unclear. Do you mean that it will only be
fixed if OOo migrates
to 3.5, and that it is fixed in 3.5 (and subsequent builds)? or that we can fix
it now and it will also be
fixed in 3.5? I assume you mean the latter...

2. Let's say we don't know if we want to upgrade to 3.5.

3. Given the uncertainty and the evident need for this fix (see pjanik's
comments) I'd suggest going
ahead with the fix now.

4. That then leaves the question of which lists. As a rough guide, I'd say all
lists of projects listed here,
http://projects.openoffice.org/native-lang.html (about 45 projects with
attendant lists), but that is just
a start, and I'd like to know if this fix resolves future problems as well as
current ones. A more
complete list could be created probably a heck of a lot faster and easier than
manually counting by
running a lynx script, I'd imagine, searching for nonsense subject lines. But
I'm not an engineer.
