Please note: (1) It is not "a dictionary" linked to the office, but it depends on the character attribute "language" (see format-character-font) what dictionary is used for spell check. (2) A a copy-paste from another document may bring the character attribute [i.e. language = none] into a document that has another default language set. Please re-verify your findings in a younger build (see http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html for the latest) If you can reproduce this, then please reopen and tell what language was set in your system and where you got the OOo build from.
