The inserted graphics are not placed exactly in the middle of the document so there always remains a small offset which must be corrected. Whether this behavior appears because the workspace is not centered or because the graphic is not set correctly is beyond my understanding. To make it short, if graphics were really placed in the exact center of the workspace, that would surely be a good thing, but at the moment they are not.
