2005 -------
The original file has the Record Type Descriptor (RTD) ID but lacks the Field
Type Descriptor (FTD) ;P<name> with <name> being the name of the program that
created the file, instead it has some undocumented Excel extension ;E FTD,
whatever that stands for. If we wanted to load this file as a spreadsheet it
boils down to not insist on a ;P FTD and simply take the presence of a single ID
RTD as a SYLK indicator. This would result in any file starting with the two
letters ID tried to being loaded as a SYLK file. This seems to be what Excel for
Mac does, which clashes with CSV files starting with ID erronously being
identified as SYLK files and refused being loaded, see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q215591/

A solution could be to look for one of the (yet known) possible combinations of
ID;P, ID;E, ID;N

An even better solution would be to fix the software that produced the file.

This is not a must for OOo2.0.1.
