I can confirm it on WinXP with OOo1.9.113.
The export is wrong. First the formula is ugly in Word97. If you doubleclick it
for editing it looks better. But still there is something wrong. The A is to
small and you cannot edit it in Word97.
The reimport of the doc-file, which was generated with OOo, is broken as
described.
