You should close this issue, because it is not an error in the formula editor. >From your pictures I guess, that your 'Lucida Sans' has no file for typeface italic (and 'Helvetica' neither), so it is calculated from the typeface regular. Font-handling differs in Linux from Windows. Because I only have Windows, I cannot help you further. You should use forums and newsgroups to find out, what is wrong.
