Hi,
as your file is a SXC, the notes get a default position and length of the
connector line. This is because Notes handling was greatly improved for OOo2.0.
Now formattings and user defined positions are possible. This feature can only
be saved to the new Open Document format as SXC does not offer such
possibilities.
So save your document as ODS after formatting and positioning of your notes.
