Downloaded and printed "Mon Feb 14 12:12:00 -0700 2005: version 2 or seven.sxw", but could not see any spacing issues. A scan of my result has been attached for your review. Certainly could not see the spacing issues shown in your PRN files, which I viewed with http://www.swiftview.com/viewer.htm, since the files are PCL not PS. My platform is Windows XP SP2; OOo 1.9.118; built-in print drivers; USB connection.
