So stdout/stdin has to be UNO compatible anyway. Which advantage do you see then to have this feature provided by the Basic core only instead of UNO. I only see disadvantages, especially because with UNO this could also be used from other languages. Besides that I'm not aware that VB(A) has any core support for this.
