If you can't open the file, then how can you fix it by "deleting all unused rows". If the file does open after a long time, it is a virtual hang and there should at least be a way to cancel out of the operation. To me, this is a true priority 2 bug that hangs OpenOffice and it should be addressed in some other fashion. Just my 2 cents...
