In my first case, I was using data from a DataPilot (from a native query). My intent was to leave just the "buttons" that trigger the DataPilot update and hide all data from Sheet1 (all my 3 charts are in Sheet2). But when I hide the data from Sheet1 the charts from Sheet2 loses all columns. I hope my file can help you to reproduce.
