------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 18 08:09:53 -0700 2005 ------- When faced with a load of alien formats that OO nevertheless largely understands, it would be nice to be able to convert the whole lot into OO native format or to pdf. These functions are clearly possible, as one can do them by separately opening each file and "saving as". They would save time and possibly make OO even more popular especially to the benighted users of ms systems who are used to having to buy add-on programs for almost everything -- batch conversion to a well-known format (e.g. pdf) is a frequent chore desired of secretaries, seminar organisers, etc. I suppose it may be claimed that OO doesn't really go in for "command like" functions, but a) this could surely be added as a possible gui action , b) it would be very useful, and c) as OO is the best Free program I've yet met at converting these wretched multi-megabyte "ppt" presentations I sometimes get sent, it would feel a shame not to have that ability available for batch use. I propose something under the file menu, "Convert", that would bring up a gui allowing first an output format (and possibly other directory) to be chosen and then multiple files to be selected for conversion, masked by the list of formats able to be converted to the chosen output format. A further command, bundled with OO would be wonderful too, so as not to have to start the gui! Sorry if this has already come up: no-result was returned on my searches for multiple and batch conversions. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
