TOO many times I've been confused with spreadsheets looking wrong (and
yesterday
in a hurry lost 1066 EURO on a studio session with part of the script missing
because of this) upon opening them because I forgot to press CTRL+HOME just
after opening/choosing a spreadsheet.

I find it very illogical that Open Office requires the user press CTRL+HOME
just
to view a spreadsheet the same way each time a new one is chosen/opened. There
is no way of having Open Office show a newly chosen or loaded spreadsheet in
the
left/topmost corner.

The problem is that

1) open office confusingly starts showing the section where the last user
happened to have her cursor when she saved. This, mind you, more often than not
is a completely random cell which therefore makes the program show only part of
the spreadsheet confusing the user into thinking unless the user (like I try
to)
ALWAYS presses CTRL+HOME before saving

2) open office has NO clear way of showing that the sheet is infact BIGGER than
what's showing on screen. The user looking at the cells - even top most cell
row
is not in ANY way being clearly told that the spreadsheet is bigger that the
current view.

Please...

a) make it possible to turn on an option that makes calc ALWAYS open showing A1
- like after you've clicked ctrl+home - and show first time chosen spreadsheets
on A1 too

b) make it visually VERY VERY clear when a spreadsheet is BIGGER than what's on
the screen (that's when data is on cells outside of view). E.g. with "..." in
the left and rightmost part of the screen and something like that in the top/
bottom too - or make the cells fade out or something unless they're in the
first/last row/column of data on the sheet.

I'm not sure how Excel does this but if it does this better or has an option to
choose to _always_ start on A1, I'm seriously considering switching (I think
Excel costs less than 1066 EUR). If Excel does not handle this problem better I
would be very happy to see open office getting ahead of Excel in this regard!

Cheers
