Most of times, when the pointer is inside a cell, typing ctrl-A selects the cell only, typing again ctrl-A selects the entire table. Sometimes, all the table is selected when you operate only once. I can reproduce this easily with an empty table. But I found the bug with a table where the behavior depended on the cell. I've simplified the table to a minimal size and put it as an attachment. You can see the different behaviors of ctrl-A when you navigate from cell to cell.
