------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Sep 8 04:53:51 -0700 2005 ------- I like the logo variations here (especially the one from theguy2042000) but since the splash screen has been set, it looks like the logo will be what is displayed on the splash screen. (Otherwise, we should change the splash screen to match an official logo once it's adopted...how silly would it be for us to not have our own correct logo on the splash screen that everyone sees?) With that in mind, I'm attaching the logo as displayed on the splash screen in a variety of formats (vector CMYK, raster CMYK, vector PMS, etc.). As for the earlier question about why the logo wasn't done in Draw, I can conjecture that the need for us to be able to have consistent printed materials requires us to use Pantone colors, which (as far as I can tell) OOo does not support. And, quite honestly, Illustrator is simple a dedicated graphic tool designed specifically for that kind of work. Although Draw is a pretty sophisticated graphics editing tool for an office suite, it's not intended to be a competitor with high-end tools like Illustrator and can't do a lot of the things Illustrator can do. I see nothing wrong with using an outside application to support the project if it's the right tool for the job. (Look at it this way: OOo can save files in HTML format, but does that mean we should eschew Nvu or Dreamweaver or Fusion in creating websites to promote it?) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
