I can't seem to get the digital outputs on my Game Theater XP to produce
output on the digital
SPDIF/IEC-958 or Toslink optical outputs. My receiver just sits there claiming
"UNLINK" and the light on the Toslink
output does not turn on. Is the digital output feature supported in the cs46xx driver?
I can't seem to find any sort
of documentation on this, nor can I tell from the cs46xx driver source. I'm using
alsa-drive-0.9beta7. The analog
headphone output produces sound, but there is quite a bit of distortion when the pcm
mixer is turned up past 50% or
so. Also, the "master volume" mixer control doesn't seem to actually work.

Are these problems specific to the Game Theater XP, or to the cs46xx driver in
general? Is anybody making
efforts to improve support? If so, how do I get in contact with this person? I would
like to contribute to
development of this driver, but past attempts at emails to this list have gone
unanswered...
