Hello,

I bought a TerraTec EWX 24/96 Soundcard. It was possible to start the
ice1712 driver with alsaconf. But Aplay and the KDE Sounddriver always moan
about "unable to set channel params". Is it possible to get a little bit
more detailed error description about whats wrong in my system? E.g. a
verbose switch or something like that for Aplay?

Or even better: Have anybody a clue what to do (except take the soundcard
back to the store)?

Down here some informations from my commandline.

Thanks

   Mark

linux:/home/woody # cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [card1 ]: ICE1712 - ICEnsemble ICE1712
                     ICEnsemble ICE1712 at 0x6800, irq 12
linux:/home/woody # cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 0.5.11.

But starting aplay seems to be a problem:

linux:/home/woody # aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/test.wav
Aplay: version 0.5.10 by Jaroslav Kysela
Using soundcard 'ICEnsemble ICE1712 at 0x6800, irq 12'
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/test.wav' : Signed 16-bit Little

Aplay: unable to set channel params
linux:/home/woody #
