Haroldo,

I am going to set up a sourceforge project, and admin an email list and
website for the development of this driver. As 'project admin', i will
be happy to make contact with Echo corporation and request a hardware
loan on behalf of the project. The only contact I have had with Echo
before is a couple of emails requesting status of their open source
driver plans, so I have no idea what their policy is in this regard.

I have also received email from Wayne Leeds, who says he is keen on
contributing to the driver.

Wayne has several Layla20s, and I have a Gina20 which i will be using
for testing. It would be great if Wayne could pick your brain as to how
an ALSA driver is put together.

It would be easy for me to give you remote access to a machine with my
Gina attached to it, but of course this is sub-optimal for hardware
hacking due to the likelihood of crashing the system and the fact you
won't be able to hear anything.

But, if you are interested in having a play, I will be more than happy
to oblige.

Let me know what your favourite distro is, (I have Redhat 7.3, Mandrake
8.2, Gentoo immediately to hand) and I will set you up a dedicated
machine with the Gina in it and give you a root login on it.

Thanks for your interest and efforts on ALSA so far,

-Pete
