hi, i am successfully running alsa sound version 0.5.11 on my Sony VAIO PCG-FX210. it has the via686a sound card, running (according to alsamixer) an AD1881A chip.
even though I have a setup running with alsa 0.5.11, i cannot get anything going with the most recent beta (alsa_driver 0.9.0beta8a, et al). the error I get is something like AC_97 codec error. I thought I had logged it, but now I can't find it in /var/log/messages. If anyone has any experience with this, i can recompile and recreate the error line.
