1.) I already reported this as a bug on sf.net.
aplay can't play mono files longer than cca 32kB for 44100 samplerate and
cca 20kB. It actually plays the first part and then dumps a message:
"aplay: xrun:863: read/write error"
and stops.
2.) Arecord doesn't record anything. It just outputs a 44 byte wave
header. Same result with any format and samplerate.
