Hi,
I am running a 2.4.16 kernel (without devfs support) and am
having problems configuring sound for the tecra 8100. The sound card
of interest is the ymfpci.
o I compiled the kernel with sound card and OSS support as modules.
o I "succesfully" compiled the driver (0.5.12), lib (0.5.10b) utils (0.5.10)
packages.
o I have run the snddevices script.
However, whenever I try to run the amixer or aplay progams, i get the
following errors:

I have tried searching the archives for a solution, but to no avail.
I would be greatful of any suggestions or pointers in the right
direction to getting the sound correctly configured.
