This is a long outstanding problem, i think. Yes i could get Rear channels working but only for PCM. That means, if i like to have Rear-Channels for Line-In i have to record them from record source and send it out again.
I tried that matrix-mixer but it could't route anything (maybe i have to upgrade from 0.5.9?) Under Windows this seems to be much more straight forward: One can click to route any source to rear (even more than one at a time). I guess it has something to do with those alsa.conf, emu10k1.conf, surround40.conf etc. but could'nt feature it out how to set it up. How does the change of those files in action?
