-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi !
Using an IC1712-card, I depend on the latest betas from alsa. Yesterday I copiled and installed the latest stable kernel: 2.4.18-rc4 As the alsa-drivers are kernel-modules they need to be recompiled when changing the kernel. Before I did that, I loaded the latest alsa-beta (0.9.0beta11) compiling and installation went smooth, but the modules could not be loaded. Itried swiching back to beta10, but the modules could still not be inserted, at last i reinstalled the kernel-modules (make-modules.install) of my 2.4.18-Kernel and the beta10 worked again. My Idea: The beta11 contains a tree for the kernel 2.5. Did they overwrite my 2.4 kernel-snd-modules with 2.5-modules ? If yes, can I use the beta11 if i remove the kernel-tree before compiling and installing ?
