this is the config line I used for 0.9.0beta12:
./configure --with-moddir=/lib/modules/2.4.18-rc1/kernel/driver/sound/ \
--with-kernel=/usr/src/linux/ \
--with-sequencer=yes --with-oss=yes \
--with-cards=all
I used --with-kernel instead of -with-kernel-dir
-D
