Hello there, I'm new to linux, I've been trying to get my soundcard to work
I think I'm close now, but at this point I think I need the help of someone
who has already done this. I'm running Red Hat 6.1 and my soundcard is a
yamaha DS-XG on a Dell Dimension, the soundcard is integrated on the
motherboard. I compiled alsa 5.12a driver and here are the lsmod and others
so if you can please help me go through what's not working I will really
appreciate it. I've read the list archives and searched through other sites
but all how-tos get to a certain point where you have to know more than i do
to get it working. By the way, I installed alsa using the how-to on
linuxnewbie, in which it indicates to edit conf.modules. one detail is that
my conf.modules was blank, so i just added what needed to be added, but i
found strange that it was blank.
