Unlikely. I did start with 0.5.x, but I made a pretty thorough job of
ensuring that all traces of it were removed when I upgraded to 0.9.0 .
There are only two files installed on my system called "asoundef.h"
and they are both definitely from 0.9.0 : they are identical to the
corresponding files in alsa-driver and alsa-lib, and their timestamps
update when I run "make install" in those source trees. So if I am
getting the wrong "asoundef.h" it's not due to a version clash, my
0.9.0 installation must be broken.

I'm still confused as to why ALSA installs two different "asoundef.h"
files in different include trees. I will carry on investigating.

Cheers,
