Hi,
I've compiled alsa-0.9.0-rc3 with ./configure --with-oss=yes
--with-sequencer=yes under RedHat 7.3. My Intel AC97 sound works pretty
good, except that I
don't know how to play midi files. I used "playmidi sample.midi" and got the
error message "open /dev/sequencer: no such device" and in /var/log/message
there is the line "ALSA
../../../alsa-kernel/core/seq/oss/seq_oss_init.c:211:
no device found".
However, the /dev/sndconfig exists with major 14 and the module snd-seq-oss
is loaded.
I don't know where is gone wrong here. Any help is appreciated.
Below is a list of the contents of some files within /proc/asound I found
interesting, but if you need mor information about my configuration, please
let
me know.
Thanks for any help.
Thomas
