Ian,
Originally I was going to ask why you didn't post the info here. Then I read the thread. Painful..

In my office at work I have a SB Audigy mp3+ running Alsa/Jack/Ardour under RH 7.3. I used the PlanetCCRMA flow to get there, which is great for me under RH but I haven't a clue whether it will help you find the problem. It was pretty straight forward to get sound using that flow.

I *might* be in the office, tomorrow, Sunday, but for sure on Monday. I'll post my modules.conf and other interesting things then if you haven't found the answer before that.

I did not see, but could have easily missed it. Did you run alsaconf? Did it find your Audigy? That worked for me, I think, and automatically loaded the right drivers.

I look forward to hearing you have your problems solved soon.

Cheers,
Mark

Subject: [Alsa-user] Audigy Woes

Hi all,

I have tried unsuccessfully to get my soundblaster audigy card to work under slackware.  There is a thread with message id: anvfl0$ff3$[EMAIL PROTECTED]   which details the problem thus far.  I can’t think of anything else to try.   Thanks everyone.

The thread is posted at comp.os.linux.hardware and the subject is   alsa + audigy = ARRGGGH
