-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
it seems you run the alias command within a shell. There is an alias command in bash but that's something else. The alias lines you need are not shell commands but configuration lines in your /etc/modules.conf. If you already have sound, everything seems to be set up ok. What exactly do you mean by two sounds at once? Is it that xmms is playing, mpg123 as well and after that no other application can output sound? Are you using xmms-alsa as output plugin for xmms? If so it could be that xmms uses alsa, mpg123 uses oss-emulation and the other apps you tried use oss, too. If not, it might be a limitation of cmipci. Just one other thing I noted. Are you using a module called cmpci or cmipci? If it is cmpci you are using the kernel module for your card and NOT alsa.
