Hi Chris,
I tried same thing before (via8233 - perhaps two months ago) and did not get it to work either, there was no actual mpu support in the 8233 nor in the first 82xx driver. I got midi working in a different machine with the ens1371 - you should try to use the midi port on that... One of my first midi experiments with soundcards (rather than roland's special midi board with direct midi connectors) did not work as well, and that time I got into a debugging mood and connected an oscilloscope to the signal wires at the joystick port. Now, pressing keys on the keyboard generated pulses on that line of about 0.1 volts - far too low to be recognized. I built my own midi-to-joystick cable using the opto part suggested in the midi standard, and all was running fine At least the shop that sold the soundcard and the cable said that it was a quality cable - and with about 25 dollars it certainly had a high-quality price tag Wolfgang Hamann ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
