Use envy24control (a gui control program for the ice1712 chipset) that
is part of alsa-tools to look at the synchronization options. Most
probably it is set for external sync or fixed internal. 

Hmm, I guess I had not finished reading :-)

That is not good. Are you sure you have all packages installed and with
the same version? (alsa-driver, alsa-lib, alsa-utils, alsa-tools). I use
a lot of delta 66's with omniI/O boxes with no problems.
