About everyone can help you, but it will be better for you if we didn't. You will be happier if you find the answer to your problem yourself. Reading the man page for bash will be a good start, though it has a lot of information that might be a little hard to understand. Try to make most of it. Search for PATH, COMMAND EXECUTION ... well that ought to do it. If it wasn't good enough then start off at

and read, read... Part 4 would be of interest in your case, though you wouldn't be sorry if you read it all.
