Hi

We have just got RedHat 8 working with a Hoontech SoundTrack Audio DSP24 MKII
its using the ICE1712 - Hoontech SoundTrack Audio DSP24 at 0xa400, irq 9.

It plays wav files etc ok, but we have been unable to work out how we turn on
the analog Left and Right XLRs which are attached to the card.

I have been using alsamixer and also gnome-alsamixer and have noticed lots of
channels and options I do not fully understand, just wondered if anyone had a
this card working and using the analog XLRs in.

I found this post
http://www.mail-archive.com/alsa-user@lists.sourceforge.net/msg04067.html, the
user is using something called envy24control mixer, I found envy24control as a
tar 0.4 but it won't compile (gives a error configure: error: No linkable
libasound was found.) Do I need this?

Have people also used ffmpeg to capture and encode to MPEG layer 2 audio from
this XLRs is this poss? (we want to pipe the input so we can use it with the
videolan server project to mulitcast a
mpeg layer 2 audio stream.

Have looked on google and tru the mailing list archive but sorry if these
questions have been asked before.

Thanks for any help.

Adam
