Tried this... Still not working correctly.

I can see that via function 5/6, offset 40, bit 0, never flags the codec as
being
ready.  It remains 0.

I tossed the board onto the logic analyser and per the Sigmatel STAC9752
data
sheet, I can see the proper reset sequence and the codec issuing the proper
ready bits.

It just seems as if the Via vt82c686B chip isn't listening.

Any ideas?
