Right now i dont have possibility to do any practical test. I've checkedSomething has happend to the driver. I had a cvs version that worked well but I can't find it anymore. rc6 is missing bass and rc7 produces very distored sound. I will check in the mail archive if I can find the patch to rc6 to make it work again.
the CVS log and the RC7 release dont initialize the amplifier properly,
that is the probable reason to the: "very distorcionated" sound". What I
can see in the CVS log this problem is fixed since the 1.45 of cs46xx_lib.c,
so in theroy the current CVS version should work OK.
I would suggest you to test the current CVS.
