Hello,
I have a fresh redhat 8.0 server installation. I downloaded and compiled/installed alsa-drivers-0.9.0rc7, alsa-lib-0.9.0rc7, alsa-utils-0.9.0rc7. All compilations were successfull.
When I ran alsaconf, it found my intel8x0 soundcard just fine and modified modules.conf correctly.
When I tried to use amixer to unmute the soundcard, I got the following error:
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory
I tried doing a cat on /proc/asound/cards, and discovered I don't have a /proc/asound directory.
How do I proceed from here?
