I've two machines both running Debian sid kernel 2.4.19. I use the debian alsa-packages for the libs and utils, but compile my own kernel and alsa-drivers. I use the rc7 drivers at the moment.
Both machines are configured the same way, apart from the fact that one has a SB Live and the other an intel8x0 and usb-audio.
The SB Live machine works fine, but on the intel8x0 machine aplay uses 100%CPU and doesn't give any sound. That happens whether the usb-card (edirol AU-1D) is plugged in or not (with the intel8x0 configured as default).
The make it even more strange, the alsa plugin of xmms works perfect and so does alsamixer. I didn't change any settings before the problem appeared.
Does anybody have clue on this?
Thanks in advance,
Remco Poelstra
