I've got a module-specific question. I'm new to the list, and am working on possibly moving off Win32 altogether to KDE3 on SuSE 8... sound seems to be my only bug at the moment.
Here's the problem: The system boots just fine, no error or failure messages. I've checked the boot log, the message log, the failure log... no reported problems. During boot, the ALSA system appears to be loaded along with the snd-cs4236 module just fine. But no sound comes out. I've checked all my cabling, yadda yadda yadda... the speakers check out on another PC... everything loads fine, hardware's all good, but I get no sound. I've got the cs4236 module set to auto-configure, I've tried PnP and non-PnP OS settings in the BIOS. I have no clue what to try next. Any suggestions? Incidentally, the hardware platform in question is an IBM Aptiva 2153-e3n, 300 MHz AMD K-6, 265MB RAM, brand-new WD 40GB HDD...
