Hi, if someone could give me a hand on this, it'd
be great!
I'm running Gentoo linux, the kernel is 2.4.19rc2
and I believe (I'm not at home so I can't quickly check) that I have alsa
0.9.0_rc6 in there. My sound card is a ymf 724 (F I think, but I forget
the letter), so I"m running the ymfpci driver.
I have gotten it to play sound quite well.
Movies, xmms, etc. That works great. I, however, have not been able
to get it to record. My mic cable is plugged into the right slot (always
check the stupid stuff first :), it works under windows with it there).
I've toyed around with gnome's mixer and with amixer, but to no avail.
I've tried recording with arecord and and gnomerecord, nothing.
I read some stuff about amplifier settings for
recording. I didn't see anything in alsa mixer referring to that so I so
far assumed that my card doesn't have that. Could these be in a
configuration file that I'm unaware of?
Help on this would be great! I'm trying to
get my sound card working full duplex (it might be, I just can't record right
now!) so that I can get gnomemeeting working.
Thanks!
-Patrick.
