Note that we limited the OSS API to 48kHz. This patch (I've commited it to CVS, too) should solve this problem.

Thanks! That did it. I'm getting close now to having a fully working environment with my Delta44.

Now this causes me to ask another question. Is there
a similar reason that I am unable to send 24/3 files,
or files with long ints to my card using oss emulation
and the program csound?

Csound can write and read these types of files, but
can't send them right out to the audio device.

With 24 bit files (-3), I get:

unknown sample format

with long ints (-l):

Linux sound driver does not support long integer samples

Is OSS supposed to handle > 16bit files, and if so,
is this another ALSA OSS emu prob, or is it more
likely a csound prob?

Thanks!!

Tobiah
