Hi again, > > pinned the problem on my PCMCIA ethernet card of all things. > > it's somthing to do with PCI or interrupts interfering with the USB
aha, so is there a way to change things so that I don't have several other bits of hardware using the same irq as usb? BIOS only lets me change the parallel port, nothing else. I've got vga, ethernet, firewire and modem on the same two irq's as my usb controllers, but don't use or have the kernel compiled for half of them. I found that the quattro levels seem consistent if I stick to one of the four available usb sockets, but they are still very low if I use arecord. In Pd, the input level is low and dirty, but seems to sound cleaner if I multiply the audio signal. Is it something to do with the format of the signal and the processing ranges of the software? Am I barking up the wrong tree? thanks for the pci tip, anyway tim ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
